NEW PRAGUE, Minn. – The No. 5-seeded Farmington Tigers saw their season come to a close on Thursday night, falling 5-1 to No. 4-seeded New Prague in the Section 1AA Quarterfinals. Despite a determined effort, the Tigers were unable to overcome the Trojans, finishing the season with a 9-16-1 record.
RECAP
Farmington got off to a strong start, striking first just 1:54 into the game as Evrett Bennett buried an even-strength goal off assists from Mason Rodgers and Leyton Grant. However, New Prague quickly responded, scoring twice in the opening period to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
The Trojans extended their lead in the second period with goals from Walker Andersen and Grason Reu, capitalizing on their offensive opportunities. Farmington generated chances throughout the game, outshooting New Prague 34-22, but struggled to find the back of the net.
In the third period, the Tigers continued to battle but could not cut into the deficit. New Prague sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 15:46, securing their spot in the section semifinals.
