STILLWATER, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers boys golf team battled windy conditions and a deep field of competitors on Wednesday, finishing 11th out of 16 teams at the East Ridge Invite, hosted at the challenging StoneRidge Golf Club.
RECAP
Farmington posted a team score of 319 (+31) in a field stacked with some of the top programs in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The Tigers were led by senior Cale Thompson, who turned in a steady round of 76 (+4) to finish tied for 21st individually.
Sophomore Ethan Button shot a 79 (+7) to contribute to the team's scoring effort, while freshman Ayden Wollak (81) and senior Jonah Ask (83) rounded out the Tigers' top four scorers. Jaden Kelly and Logan Henriksen also competed, shooting 87 and 85 respectively.
Despite some struggles on the back nine for the team as a whole, Farmington stayed competitive, finishing just five strokes behind 10th-place Mounds View and ahead of several strong metro programs.
