Girls Soccer Earns First Win of Season with 2-1 Victory at Waconia

WACONIA, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers girls soccer team picked up their first win of the 2025 season on Saturday morning, earning a 2-1 non-conference victory over the Waconia Wildcats. The result moves the Tigers to 1-0-1 on the young season.

RECAP
Farmington dictated much of the tempo throughout the match, finishing with 55.4% possession and a 66% pass completion rate. The Tigers generated 13 shots and 16 crosses while completing nearly 200 passes. The early pressure paid off with two first-half goals that proved to be enough to secure the win.

The Tigers' midfield play was particularly effective, with 156 passes completed in that zone alone. Farmington also showed defensive discipline down the stretch, limiting Waconia to just five shots and holding off a late push from the Wildcats to seal the win.

UP NEXT
Farmington will be back on the road Friday, August 29, for another non-conference matchup. The Tigers travel to Hastings for a 3:00 p.m. game against the Raiders.
