Girls Soccer Shuts Out Owatonna, Improves to 6-1-4

OWATONNA, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers girls soccer team returned to the win column on Saturday morning, earning a 1-0 road victory over Owatonna in a non-conference matchup. The result improves the Tigers to 6-1-4 on the season and marks a strong bounce-back effort following a narrow loss to No. 2-ranked Rosemount earlier in the week.

RECAP

Farmington controlled much of the possession and tempo throughout the match, building pressure with sustained play in the midfield and attacking third. The Tigers' lone goal came in the first half and stood as the difference in a tightly contested battle between Section 1AAA opponents.

Farmington registered nine shots and four corner kicks, while limiting Owatonna to minimal attacking chances. The Tigers' defensive unit held strong over the full 90 minutes, allowing just three total shots and preserving the clean sheet.

Efficient passing and ball movement helped Farmington maintain nearly 50 percent possession on the road. The team completed 238 of 392 passes (61 percent), with notable success in the attacking third and strong distribution through the middle of the field.

TOP TIGERS

Farmington's defense was key in securing the shutout, with consistent efforts in all thirds of the pitch. The midfield provided crucial support on both ends, helping the Tigers outshoot their opponent and control tempo. The lone goal came from a first-half buildup, and Farmington maintained composure the rest of the way to secure the win.
