FARMINGTON, Minn. -- The Section 1 Class AAAA Softball Tournament is set to begin on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, and the Farmington Tigers have once again earned the No. 1 seed in the section tournament field. The Tigers will open postseason play at home against No. 8 seed Rochester John Marshall at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Farmington High School.
Tournament seeding was finalized this week, with eight teams qualifying for the Section 1AAAA bracket. Farmington enters postseason play as the top overall seed, followed by Lakeville North, Rochester Mayo, Rochester Century, Lakeville South, Owatonna, New Prague, and Rochester John Marshall.
The opening round of the tournament will feature four quarterfinal matchups on Tuesday evening:
- No. 1 Farmington vs. No. 8 Rochester John Marshall
- No. 2 Lakeville South vs. No. 7 New Prague
- No. 3 Rochester Century vs. No. 6 Owatonna
- No. 4 Rochester Mayo vs. No. 5 Lakeville North
All first-round games are scheduled for 5 p.m. at the higher seed.
The double-elimination portion of the tournament continues Thursday, May 21, at Todd Park in Austin, Minn., with the Section 1AAAA championship round scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, and Thursday, May 28.
Fans attending section tournament games should note that all section contests require electronic ticket purchases only. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $6 for students. South Suburban Conference passes will not be accepted, and only valid Region 1AA passes will grant admission.
