Schwamb Advances to State Tournament; Tigers Place 3rd in Section 1 AAA

Boys Golf wrapped up the two day, 36-hole Section 1 AAA Boys Golf Tournament on Wednesday, June 1. Junior Kyler Schwamb (72-72--144) has advanced to the MSHSL Class AAA State Boys Golf Tournament held on June 14-15 at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids, MN. 

Schwamb earned a 3rd place finish overall in the tournament. 

After day 1 of competition, the Tigers were in 4th place.

Freshman Cale Thompson (77-77--154) managed to earn an 11th place finish in the tournament, 2nd on the Tigers' roster. Thompson's round 2 scorecard was more consistent than his first round and included a birdie on hole eight and eleven pars.

Junior Zach Rouleau (78-77--155) finished 15th overall in the section tournament. Rouleau played his best golf on the back nine at the Jewel earning birdies both days on holes sixteen and seventeen. After a day one bogey on hole twelve, Rouleau returned to birdie the hole on day 2. 

Senior Dylan Olson (81-80--161) finished in 27th overall. Olson also finished the tournament strong with a pair of birdies on the back nine. His score earned a 4th place finish on the Tigers' roster.

Senior Joey Johnson (89-76--165) placed 35th overall. Johnson returned to The Jewel on day 2 of the tournament to play a great round. Round 2 included birdies on hole one and eight as well as making par on nine other holes. 

Senior Will Bassett (88-90--178) finished in 46th place overall. His tournament included making par on 11 of his 36 holes and sinking a birdie on hole twelve.
