Farmington, Minn. - In an electrifying opening round matchup of the Section 1AAA Softball Tournament, the Farmington Tigers displayed their dominance as they cruised to a resounding 13-0 victory over the Rochester John Marshall Rockets.
The Tigers showcased a formidable offensive performance, while their pitching duo of
Marissa Mittelstadt and
Kayla Schweich delivered a stellar four-hit shutout.
From the start, the Farmington Tigers asserted their authority, putting the pressure on the Rockets' defense. Lexi Goring led the charge, going 2 for 3 at the plate and contributing an RBI to the team's victory.Â
Kam Hughes also had an outstanding game, going 2 for 3 with two RBIs and crossing the plate twice herself.
Hannah Hansen made her mark, going 1 for 2 and contributing to the team's offensive onslaught.Â
Marissa Mittelstadt picked up the win as the Tigers' pitcher and improving her record to an impressive 6-3 for the season.Â
