Lakeville, Minn. - We never thought it would happen, but a 70 degree, sunny day happened to fall on the Farmington Girls Golf Team third South Suburban Conference match, and the girls responded to the great weather firing the best team round of the year.
Senior
Shelby Burns led the way for the Tigers with not only her personal best for the season, but a true personal best with a score of 88. She was steady all day, paring 7 holes and adding 6 bogeys on her way to an 11th place finish. Junior
Kailey Watson finished second for the Tigers with a 94. Kailey shot a 50 on her front side, but heated up and fired a 44 on the back to complete her 94.
Jayla Mao (8th) rounded out the Tigers to break the century mark with a score of 97. Nothing more than a 7 on the scorecard for Jayla and also added a kick in birdie on the par 3, second hole.
Annika Reuss (10th) was the final scoring player with a round of 104. The team shot a 383 which was good enough for 4th place, tied for the highest placement for a Farmington team in a South Suburban Conference match in history!
Scarlett Hedrick (8th) kept the consistent improvements coming all season, shooting a 108 and senior Austyn Marras brought down her season average scoring a 109.
