Softball Falls to Shakopee 3-0 in SSC Match Up

Shakopee, Minn. - It was a tough day on the diamond for the Farmington Tigers as they faced off against the Shakopee Sabers in a softball matchup on Monday, May 8.

The Sabers came out strong, scoring one run in the first inning and never looked back, ultimately taking the game 3-0.

Despite the loss, the Tigers had some standout performances. Lexi Goring led the way for the Tigers, going a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate. Unfortunately, her efforts were not enough to get the team on the scoreboard.

Kayla Schweich took the mound for the Tigers and had a decent outing, but the Sabers' batters were able to make some solid contact and score runs in the first, third, and fifth innings. This ultimately led to her taking the loss, bringing her season record to 5-3.

The loss drops the Tigers' overall record to 8-4 on the year, while the Sabers improve to 9-2.

It's a tough loss for Farmington, but they will have a chance to bounce back in their next game.
