EAGAN, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers cross country teams delivered solid performances at the 2024 South Suburban Conference Championship meet held on Friday at Eagan High School. The boys team finished 6th out of 10 teams, while the girls secured a strong 4th place finish out of 10 teams.
BOYS RECAP
The Tigers were led by junior Adam Johnson, who placed 14th overall with a time of 17:22.0. Sophomore Patrick Carroll followed closely, finishing 20th in 17:31.8. Freshman Carter Lippold crossed the line in 35th place with a time of 18:02.9. Rounding out Farmington's top five were freshmen Wesley Toensing (45th, 18:45.0) and sophomore Evan Buss (46th, 18:45.7). Sophomore Thomas Crisp also contributed with a time of 18:56.5, finishing 52nd.
GIRLS RECAP
On the girls' side, junior Sophia Venning led the Tigers, placing 11th overall with a time of 20:33.6. Eighth-grader Mara Brock continued her strong season, finishing 16th in 20:49.7, while senior Brylee Cavanaugh placed 19th with a time of 20:56.1. Seventh-grader Shelby Carroll (25th, 21:40.0) and senior Lindsey Woestehoff (27th, 21:40.5) completed the Tigers' scoring five, helping the team secure 4th place overall. Other notable performances came from sophomore Lillian Reuss (28th, 21:40.9) and seventh-grader Mia Tooley (38th, 22:10.7).

UP NEXT
The Tigers will now have a week off as they prepare for the Section 1 Class AAA cross country meet, where they will compete for a trip to the state meet. The section meet will be held on Thursday, October 24, at the Owatonna Brooktree Golf Course. The Farmington girls will look to defend their title, having won the section championship for the past seven years.
