PRIOR LAKE, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers opened their 2024-25 season with a hard-fought 4-2 loss to the Prior Lake Lakers on Tuesday night in a South Suburban Conference clash. The game marked the debut for new head coach Dave May, who saw his team rally in the third period but fall short against a disciplined Lakers squad.

Prior Lake jumped to an early lead in the first period with two goals, including an even-strength tally by Gavin Lind at 4:41 and another from Levi Eiter at 11:46. The Lakers extended their lead in the second period when Eiter found the back of the net again, giving Prior Lake a 3-0 advantage heading into the final frame.
Farmington mounted a comeback in the third period, starting with a goal from Tanner Gylling at 1:37, assisted by Jackson Donahue and Jacob Whirley. The Tigers pulled within one after Drake Anderson scored a power-play goal at 6:47 with help from Nick Marsh.
Despite the momentum, Prior Lake sealed the game with an empty-net, short-handed goal by Eiter at 16:13, completing his hat trick.
TOP TIGERS
The Tigers were efficient on special teams, going 1-for-4 on the power play while killing all three Prior Lake opportunities.
