FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers continued their dominant run in the Louis Schmitz Holiday Classic, shutting out the Western Wisconsin Stars 4-0 on Friday night at Schmitz-Maki Arena. The Tigers have yet to concede a goal in the tournament, securing their second consecutive shutout.
RECAP
Farmington wasted no time asserting control, netting three goals in the first period. Addison Trapp opened the scoring at 7:26 off a setup from Ryann Bengston and Norah Kratz. Less than two minutes later, Lexi Giller extended the lead with a goal assisted by Layla Garofalo and Amara Zens. Taylor Risch capped the first-period scoring with a goal at 16:43, assisted by Jenna and Amelia Goblirsch.
Risch struck again in the second period, finishing off a pass from Amelia and Jenna Goblirsch to make it 4-0. The Tigers outshot Western Wisconsin 49-15, controlling play throughout all three periods.
Goaltender Makena Underwood was flawless between the pipes, stopping all 15 shots she faced to secure the shutout.

Farmington will face Northfield in the final game of the tournament on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. as they look to claim the Louis Schmitz Holiday Classic title.
