LAKE CITY, Minn. – Farmington's girls wrestling team turned in a strong performance at the Lake City Girls Invitational on Wednesday, highlighted by sophomore Lex Thovson capturing the championship at 118 pounds. Several other Tigers wrestled impressively in the JV brackets, showcasing depth throughout the competition.

At 118 pounds, Thovson dominated her way to the title. After receiving a bye in the quarterfinals, she pinned Sadie Willaert of Rochester Mayo in 1:24 during the semifinals. In the championship match, Thovson secured the title with a 1:47 fall over Tahli Meyer of Lake City.
In JV action, the Tigers were well-represented with several notable performances:
- 106 pounds: Lilliane Stevens went undefeated, pinning Samantha Allen (Hastings) in 1:31, Kira Poellinger (Hastings) in 0:47, and LiAnn Burlingame (St. Charles) in 1:07 to finish with a perfect 3-0 record.
- 112 pounds: Kylie Goodreau opened with a thrilling 17-14 decision over Ava Butson (St. Charles). After falling in her second match, Goodreau received a bye in the final round to finish the day strong.
- 130 pounds: Alisha Draper faced tough competition, battling through three matches. Despite setbacks, Draper showed resilience against opponents from Hastings, Rochester Mayo, and Lake City.
- 142 pounds: Lillian Coyer advanced to the championship match after pinning Rachel Lastine (St. Charles) in 1:30 and Ella Weist (Lake City) in 1:32. She finished as the runner-up after falling to Audrianna Dahlberg (Hastings) in the final.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, December 12, when they host the Burnsville Blaze for a conference dual meet at Farmington High School.
