Farmington, Minn. -- In a South Suburban Conference showdown at Farmington High School on Monday, April 22, the Farmington Tigers battled Lakeville North and celebrated youth night.
The Panthers got off to a swift start, seizing a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning courtesy of a home run, driving in one run. Undeterred, the Tigers staged an impressive rally in the bottom half of the inning.

As the game progressed, Farmington continued to dominate, steadily building their lead. In the bottom of the third inning, Hannah Hansen's groundout brought in Johannsen, pushing the Tigers ahead 3-2. They extended their lead in the same inning when Kaydence Moe's sacrifice fly allowed Hansen to score, followed by Brynn Lickfelt's double that brought home Olivia McMahon and Leah Oistad, making it 6-2 in favor of Farmington.
Despite Lakeville North's efforts to narrow the gap with runs in the fifth inning, Farmington maintained their momentum. In the bottom of the fifth, Johannsen's single drove in Goring, further solidifying the Tigers' lead at 8-4. The sixth inning saw Farmington explode offensively, with a series of hits and a wild pitch that brought in multiple runs. Goring, Hughes, Klotz, and Oistad all contributed with key hits, propelling the Tigers to a commanding 14-4 lead.
The Tigers are now 5-1 overall and 5-1 in the SSC matching the Rosemount Irish at 5-1 atop the SSC standings. The Tigers lost 3-2 in 10 innings to the Irish on April 11. The two teams are set to meet again on Friday, May 3.
