NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The Farmington Tigers cross country teams competed at the St. Olaf High School Showcase meet on Thursday, August 29, on the campus of St. Olaf College.
The girls team finished 13th overall out of 21 competing teams, showing solid individual efforts against a competitive field. Leading the way for the Tigers was sophomore Sophia Venning, who placed 49th with a time of 21:07. Senior Brylee Cavanaugh followed closely behind in 60th place, clocking in at 21:18.60. Eighth-grader Mara Brock rounded out Farmington's top three with a time of 22:04.20, finishing 87th.
On the boys side, the Tigers placed 11th out of 19 teams, highlighted by sophomore Patrick Carroll's impressive 24th place finish with a time of 17:28. Junior Adam Johnson was the next Farmington runner to cross the line, finishing 42nd in 17:59.70. Freshman Carter Lippold completed the top trio for the Tigers, placing 56th with a time of 18:20.50. Both teams look to build on these performances as the season progresses.
