Football Falls To Edina In Opening Round Of Class 6A Playoffs, 30-17

EDINA, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers saw their 2025 football season come to an end Friday night, falling 30-17 to the No. 4 seeded Edina Hornets in the first round of the MSHSL Class 6A state playoffs. With the loss, the Tigers close out the year with a 4-5 overall record.

Recap

Farmington got on the board early with a 25-yard field goal from Alex Roche in the first quarter, but Edina responded with a one-yard touchdown run to take a 7-3 lead. The Hornets added two more scores in the second quarter, including a 67-yard touchdown pass, to extend their lead to 20-9 at halftime. Farmington's lone touchdown of the first half came on a 5-yard run by Chris Rehak.

In the third quarter, Rehak broke free for an 87-yard touchdown run, bringing the Tigers back within striking distance. Farmington converted the two-point attempt on a pass from Ashton Raveling to Mason Blandin to make it 27-17. Edina added a field goal in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.

Top Tigers

Chris Rehak rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries and also completed two passes for 88 yards.

Cade Boyles was 8-for-22 passing for 108 yards, and Ty Beck completed a 59-yard pass on a trick play.

Brock Johnson led the receivers with six catches for 161 yards. Beck added 40 receiving yards and totaled 67 kickoff return yards.

Mason Arendt recorded 17 total tackles to lead the defense. Devin Petersen and Brady Cichon each added 1.5 tackles for loss, and Sawyer Pribyl tallied a sack.

Season Wrap-Up

The Tigers finish the 2025 season with a 4-5 record. The program now turns its attention to the offseason and the continued development of its returning core.
