Four Farmington Wrestlers Punch Tickets to MSHSL Class AAA State Tournament

FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers had an impressive showing at the 2025 Section 2AAA individual wrestling tournament, with four athletes earning spots in the MSHSL Class AAA State Tournament. Tyler Chenevert (121), Blake Han-Lindemyer (127), Ethan Mangowi (139), and Davis Parrow (145) each battled through a tough field to secure their state qualifications.

RECAP

At 107 pounds, freshman Mason Stenson secured a third-place finish. Stenson advanced through the bracket with an 8-0 major decision victory over Lakeville North's Max Flen before securing his 3rd place finish. 

At 121 pounds, senior Tyler Chenevert finished as the section runner-up to earn a spot in the state tournament. After falling to New Prague's Lawson Eller in the finals, Chenevert had secured his trip to the state tournament with victories over the remainder of the bracket.

At 127 pounds, sophomore Blake Han-Lindemyer also claimed a section runner-up finish. Han-Lindemyer also secured his trip to the state tournament with victories over the remainder of the bracket.

At 139 pounds, junior Ethan Mangowi finished as section runner-up. After a close loss in the finals to Apple Valley's Tyler Laudenbach, Mangowi responded with a 12-5 decision win over Prior Lake's Wyatt Smith to secure his state qualification.

At 145 pounds, junior Davis Parrow dominated the competition en route to a section championship. Parrow secured a pinfall victory over Apple Valley's Louis Prouty in the finals to claim the title and punch his ticket to state.

At 152 pounds, junior Chase Stevens placed fourth. After opening the tournament with a major decision win, Stevens fell in the semifinals and later lost in the third-place match.

At 189 pounds, sophomore Joshua Walker secured a fifth-place finish. Walker claimed an important 6-2 decision over Prior Lake's Thomas Wycoff in his final match.

At 215 pounds, senior William Preston finished fourth. After making a strong run through the bracket, he fell in the third-place match in sudden victory.

Up Next

The four Farmington qualifiers will now set their sights on the MSHSL Class AAA State Tournament, set to take place at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.  The qualifying wrestlers will begin their pursuit of the State Championship on Friday, February 28 at 9:00 a.m., when the first round of the tournament begins.
