FARMINGTON, Minn. – The top-seeded Farmington Tigers secured a hard-fought 4-3 victory over the No. 5 seed Mankato East Cougars on Saturday night at Schmitz-Maki Arena, earning a trip to the Section 1AA Championship game.

Farmington got off to a fast start, scoring just 23 seconds into the game when Jenna Goblirsch found the back of the net off assists from Amelia Goblirsch and Taylor Risch. Jenna Goblirsch struck again just five minutes later, doubling the Tigers' lead with another even-strength goal.
Mankato East responded in the second period, cutting the deficit to 2-1 on a goal from Grace Campbell. However, the Tigers had an answer as Jenna Goblirsch completed the hat trick at 8:55 of the period, extending the Farmington lead to 3-1. The Cougars continued to battle, making it 3-2 late in the period off a goal from Brielle Newton.
With a one-goal lead heading into the third, Farmington needed a big play—and it was Jenna Goblirsch once again, scoring her fourth goal of the night while shorthanded at 3:52. The Tigers' defense held strong as Mankato East managed to cut the lead to 4-3 midway through the period but could not find the equalizer.
Goaltender Addison Moudry was key in the win, stopping 35 of 38 shots, including several critical saves down the stretch.

Farmington advances to the Section 1AA Championship, where they will face No. 3 seed Northfield. The Tigers and Raiders met once this season, with Farmington earning a 5-4 overtime win in December. The section title game is set for Thursday, February 13, at 5:00 p.m. at the Steele County Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna.
