FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers kept their early momentum rolling on Thursday afternoon, shutting out the Burnsville Blaze 9-0 at home to improve to 2-0 on the season.

The Tigers wasted no time getting on the board, capitalizing on a Blaze error and a wild pitch to take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Farmington added to its advantage in the second when Lila Johannsen doubled to drive in another run.
Farmington's offense continued to apply pressure throughout the afternoon, piling up 10 hits while playing error-free defense. Kayley Schuenemann led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and two singles, including a run-scoring hit in the fourth.
Center fielder Kaydence Moe drove in two runs from the seven spot in the lineup, while Johannsen and Leah Oistad each collected multiple hits. The Tigers stayed aggressive on the bases, tallying seven stolen bases, with Lexi Goring and Schuenemann each swiping two.
In the circle, Olivia Peterson was dominant. The senior threw a complete game shutout, allowing six hits over seven innings while striking out six and walking just one. The Tigers also turned a double play and played clean defense behind her.
