APPLE VALLEY, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers softball team continued their strong start to the 2025 season, defeating Apple Valley 12-0 in six innings on Friday night. With the win, Farmington improved to 5-1 overall and remained near the top of the South Suburban Conference standings.
RECAP
The Tigers wasted little time getting on the board, plating a run in the first inning on an RBI groundout by Ellie Peterson. Farmington broke the game open in the second inning, scoring six runs on five hits. Lexi Goring doubled to drive in two runs, Kayley Schuenemann added a two-run single, Peterson singled home another, and Leah Oistad capped the rally with an RBI single.
In the fifth inning, Madison Westover extended the lead to 9-0 with a solo home run to center field, and Peyton Boyd followed with an RBI single.
Farmington closed the game out with a three-run sixth inning. Reagan Redman led off the frame with a solo home run to left field, an error plated another run, and Schuenemann drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in the final run.
Kayla Schweich was dominant in the circle, earning the win with a complete-game shutout. She allowed just three hits while striking out four and walking one over six innings.
Farmington tallied 10 hits in the victory and demonstrated patience at the plate, drawing eight walks. Schuenemann finished 1-for-2 with three RBIs and three walks to lead the offense, while every starter contributed either a hit or a walk.

Farmington returns to action Monday afternoon, hosting the Eagan Wildcats in another South Suburban Conference matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at Farmington High School.
