FARMINGTON, Minn. – Lila Johannsen homered and drove in four runs, and the Farmington Tigers exploded for nine runs in the sixth inning to defeat Eastview 10-0 on Thursday night at Farmington High School. The victory moves Farmington to 9-1 on the season and keeps them atop the South Suburban Conference standings.
RECAP
The game was scoreless through three before Kayla Schweich delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth to give Farmington a 1-0 lead. The Tigers broke the game open in the sixth, plating nine runs on five hits, three walks, and two hit batters. Johannsen's solo home run to center started the frame, and she later added an RBI hit-by-pitch in the same inning.
Reagan Redman and Kaydence Moe each drew bases-loaded walks, and Ellie Peterson was also hit by a pitch with the bases full. Leah Oistad and Schweich added RBI singles to cap the outburst.
Schweich was sharp in the circle, tossing a six-hit shutout over six innings. She struck out six and walked one to earn the win.
