FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers moved to 2-0 on the season following a gritty 7-3 home win over Lakeville North on Friday night. In a low-scoring matchup dominated by defensive execution, Farmington's lone touchdown in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference.
RECAP
Neither team reached the end zone through the first three quarters, as both defenses forced punts and limited explosive plays. Lakeville North broke the scoreless tie early in the fourth with a 31-yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead.
Farmington answered with a sustained drive, capped by a 1-yard touchdown run from Chris Rehak. Aiden Roche's extra point gave the Tigers a 7-3 lead with under five minutes to play. From there, the Farmington defense took control, stopping two late Lakeville North drives to seal the win.
The Tigers limited the Panthers to just 108 total yards and shut down their ground game. Farmington's defense was disruptive in the backfield and disciplined in coverage, holding firm in the red zone and preventing any touchdowns.
