The Tigers once again fought hard at home, but came up short in the regular season finale vs Wayzata, 27-14.
Â
The Tigers wasted no time marching down the short field after the opening kickoff and capped off the drive with a back shoulder throw from
Baiden Bean to
Brock Wyandt for an 11 yard strike.
Â
The Tigers forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and would go up two scores after
Jonathan Shrum took a direct snap up the middle for a three yard rushing touchdown.
Â
Wayzata had their offense take the field for the first time halfway through the first quarter and needed only three plays before a 50 yard strike through the air for a touchdown cut the deficit in half.
Â
The Trojans forced a stop late in the second and would even up the game on the last second of the half, a twenty yard strike to the halfback who leaked out of the backfield. It was tied up at 14 heading into halftime.
Â
Unfortunately, although the Tigers were able to move the ball just fine on offense, they had a lot of trouble finishing drives. Wayzata ended up scoring 27 unanswered points on their way to the victory.
