Tiger Football Comeback Falls Short, Fall 23-15 At Shakopee

Farmington Football traveled to Shakopee on Friday, October 28 for the Class 6A football round 1 playoff game. The Tigers lost the game 23-15.

Shakopee got things started on a 19-yard run in the first quarter. The PAT failed, and the Sabers took a 6-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Shakopee would add 3 more points after sending a 30-yard field goal through the uprights. 

Shakopee would score two more times in the third quarter to take a 23-0 lead before Farmington would score their first points.

A drive lead by the legs of Jeffrey Branson was capped off by a 1-yard Jonathan Shrum run followed by a Shrum 2-point conversion to make the score 23-8.

An incredibly well-timed play from Jonathan Shrum would result in an 85-yard touchdown run. Saber quarterback Dominic Jackson attempted a pitch to his halfback that Shurm picked off in midair to return for the TD.

Farmington had one last drive at the end of the game seeking the tie, however, an interception ended the 2022 Tigers' campaign.

Baiden Bean completed 9/23 passes for 55 yards and had 2 INTs. Brock Wyandt rushed 6 times fo 25 yards. Jeffrey Branson ran 17 times for 83 yards. Brock Wyandt caught 5 passes for 43 yards.
