The Farmington Tigers fell to the defending 6A champs Lakeville South on Friday night, 43-21.

The Tigers struck first on the opening kickoff of the game when
Jonathan Shrum electrified the Tiger Stadium crowd with a 94 yard return for a touchdown.

Lakeville South would respond by marching down the field and scoring on a 4yd touchdown rush. The Cougars failed on the 2 point attempt and still trailed, 7-6.

The only Tiger turnover of the game came on the ensuing drive when Shrum was picked off in Cougar territory. LVS turned it into a score and took a 14-6 lead with a successful 2pt conversion.

Farmington responded with a long, methodical drive that was capped with a five yard touchdown scamper by Shrum on 4
th down, tying the game at 14.

Lakeville South would then force a couple punts and score another pair of rushing touchdowns to lead 28-14 heading into the half.

The Cougars didn't relinquish the lead from there, as they tacked on another two touchdowns. Shrum added another rushing touchdown to his night, but it would not be enough. Shrum finished with three total touchdowns.
Jonathan Shrum was 8/17 passing for 100 yards.
Brock Wyandt was his favorite target making 5 catches for 72 yards.
Cole Wilcek had 2 catches for 20 yards.
Shrum rushed 18 times for 143 yards and 3 total TDs. Jeremy Branson rushed 24 times for 97 yards.Â
Defensively,
Zach Dahl lead the team with 11 total tackles.
Caleb Griffin had 8 tackles and
Braden Champlin had 7.
