Tigers Edged By Last Second Field Goal in Homecoming Loss

The Tigers fell to Edina in dramatic fashion on homecoming, 34-31.
 
The Tiger offense was driving with authority early, but turned it over on downs at midfield. Edina responded with their only score of the half, a 31-yard WR reverse to open up the scoring.
 
The Tigers answered by marching down the field and scoring on a one yard touchdown run from Jeffrey Branson. The Tigers tacked on a 28 yard field goal on the next offensive drive from Ethan Geisler.
 
Farmington capped off the half with Baiden Bean taking the direct snap and firing it 49 yards down the field to Jonathan Shrum and a touchdown. They led 17-7 at the break.
 
The third quarter was an offensive frenzy that featured a total of 31 points between the two teams. Edina kicked a field goal to get within a touchdown. However, Shrum took the ensuing kickoff all the way to the house for an 89 yard score.
 
Farmington notched their largest lead of the contest when Brock Wyandt tumbled into the endzone from one yard out, taking a 14 point lead. However, Edina would not go away and scored back to back touchdowns through the air to even the score up at 31 early in the fourth quarter.
 
Edina was able to secure the final possession and they would not give it back, kicking the game winning field goal from 30 yards out at the buzzer.

Farmington racked up 327 yards of total offense while allowing 400 yards of offense from Edina.

Jonathan Shrum was 6/10 passing with 112 yards. Baiden Bean threw 1 time for 49 yards and 1 TD.

Bean also notched 57 yards on 2 receptions. Shrum caught 1 pass for 49 yards and a TD. Cole Wilcek caught 2 passes for 40 yards.

On the ground, Jeffrey Branson lead the charge rushing 17 times for 66 yards and 1 TD. Shrum carried the ball 14 times for 51 yards.

Defensively, Zach Dahl recorded 10 total tackles. Braden Champlin and Braden Mohr had 9 tackles of their own.
