FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers football team delivered a commanding performance on Friday night, defeating the Burnsville Blaze 50-14 at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers struck early and often, piling up points in the first three quarters to secure the victory, improving to 4-3 on the season.
RECAP
Farmington opened the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run by Layne Johnson, followed by an Ethan Geisler extra point to take a 7-0 lead. The Tigers quickly doubled their advantage when quarterback Jonah Ask connected with Cole Wilcek for a 36-yard touchdown pass, making it 14-0 after Geisler's kick. Burnsville responded with a touchdown late in the first quarter and converted the two-point conversion, closing the gap to 14-8.
In the second quarter, Johnson added his second touchdown of the night with a 1-yard run, extending the Tigers' lead to 21-8. Burnsville would score once more in the quarter but miss the extra point to narrow the Farmington lead to 21-14. Ask then capped a drive with a 4-yard rushing touchdown, and after successfully running in the two-point conversion, Farmington stretched the lead to 29-14 at halftime.
The Tigers kept the pressure on in the third quarter. Brock Wyandt electrified the crowd with a 50-yard punt return for a touchdown, followed by another Johnson rushing touchdown—his third of the game—on a 4-yard carry. Ask added one more score with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Ty Beck, putting Farmington ahead 50-14 at the end of the third quarter. The Tigers' defense held Burnsville scoreless in the second half, securing the decisive victory.

- Layne Johnson led the rushing attack with 153 yards on 16 carries and 3 touchdowns.
- Jonah Ask completed 6 of 9 passes for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding 43 rushing yards and a score.
- Brock Wyandt contributed 45 receiving yards and a 50-yard punt return touchdown.
- Ty Beck and Cole Wilcek each hauled in touchdown receptions.
- Ethan Geisler was perfect on the night, converting all 6 extra point attempts.
Defensively, Chris Rehak led with 9 tackles, including 3 tackles for loss. Max Speratos and Joe Seyfert added 4 tackles and 2 tackles for loss each, while Jack Jerabek had an interception.
