Farmington Dominates Burnsville 50-14 in Home Win

FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers football team delivered a commanding performance on Friday night, defeating the Burnsville Blaze 50-14 at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers struck early and often, piling up points in the first three quarters to secure the victory, improving to 4-3 on the season.

RECAP

Farmington opened the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run by Layne Johnson, followed by an Ethan Geisler extra point to take a 7-0 lead. The Tigers quickly doubled their advantage when quarterback Jonah Ask connected with Cole Wilcek for a 36-yard touchdown pass, making it 14-0 after Geisler's kick. Burnsville responded with a touchdown late in the first quarter and converted the two-point conversion, closing the gap to 14-8.

In the second quarter, Johnson added his second touchdown of the night with a 1-yard run, extending the Tigers' lead to 21-8. Burnsville would score once more in the quarter but miss the extra point to narrow the Farmington lead to 21-14. Ask then capped a drive with a 4-yard rushing touchdown, and after successfully running in the two-point conversion, Farmington stretched the lead to 29-14 at halftime.

The Tigers kept the pressure on in the third quarter. Brock Wyandt electrified the crowd with a 50-yard punt return for a touchdown, followed by another Johnson rushing touchdown—his third of the game—on a 4-yard carry. Ask added one more score with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Ty Beck, putting Farmington ahead 50-14 at the end of the third quarter. The Tigers' defense held Burnsville scoreless in the second half, securing the decisive victory.
