Farmington Tigers Impress at Duluth Invitational

DULUTH, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers boys' swim and dive team traveled to Duluth on Saturday, January 4, 2025, for the highly competitive Duluth Invitational. The Tigers showcased their talent and determination, finishing 2nd overall with 386 points against a strong field of competitors.

Farmington's varsity team began the meet with a solid performance in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Daniel Budde, Collin Hawkins, Hudson Maakestad, and Tyler West claimed fourth place with a time of 1:50.83.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Justin Raymond earned fourth place with a time of 1:53.49, followed closely by Eli Montgomery in sixth at 1:57.50.

Junior Hantruy Nguyen delivered a standout swim in the 200-yard individual medley (IM), securing second place with a time of 2:06.18, while Daniel Budde finished ninth at 2:19.41.

Sprinter Adam Moorlach took second place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.46, and Tyler West finished fifth at 23.75.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Tyler West earned fourth place with a time of 59.54, and Hudson Maakestad finished 14th at 1:07.76.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Adam Moorlach, Tyler West, Eli Montgomery, and Hantruy Nguyen secured a third-place finish with a time of 1:31.89.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Daniel Budde placed sixth with a time of 1:01.26, while Eli Gobar took 14th with 1:08.29.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, Collin Hawkins delivered a ninth-place finish with a time of 1:12.19, and Ethan Lyons followed in 13th at 1:14.33.

The Tigers concluded the meet with a stellar performance in the 400-yard freestyle relay, with the team of Adam Moorlach, Hantruy Nguyen, Eli Montgomery, and Justin Raymond securing second place with a time of 3:24.79.
