ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers had a strong showing at the Section 1 Class AA swimming prelims held Wednesday, February 26, at the Rochester Rec Center. Numerous swimmers qualified for finals, setting up an exciting finish to the meet.

The 200 Medley Relay team qualified in 4th place, ensuring room for improvement in the finals.
In the 200 Freestyle, three Tigers advanced: Eli Gobar (16th), Eli Montgomery (7th), and Hantruy Nguyen (4th).
Two swimmers moved on in the 200 Individual Medley, with Collin Hawkins qualifying 11th and Justin Raymond securing the 8th spot.
The Tigers had a strong performance in the 50 Freestyle, with Tyler West qualifying 9th and Adam Moorlach blazing to 2nd place with a time of 21.40, just shy of the school record (21.37).
In the 100 Butterfly, Ethan Lyons (16th), Daniel Budde (10th), and Hudson Maakestad (7th) all qualified for finals.
The Tigers dominated the 100 Freestyle, with all three qualifiers making the championship heat: Tyler West (8th), Eli Montgomery (6th), and Adam Moorlach (3rd).
Three swimmers earned spots in the 500 Freestyle finals, led by Justin Raymond (4th), Hantruy Nguyen (6th), and Eli Gobar (13th).
The 200 Freestyle Relay team earned a solid 3rd-place qualification heading into finals.
In the 100 Backstroke, Wyatt Conine (12th) and Daniel Budde (7th) qualified for finals.
In the 100 Breaststroke, Collin Hawkins advanced in 14th place.
The meet concluded with the 400 Freestyle Relay team securing a 3rd-place qualification.

The Section 1 Class AA diving prelims and finals take place tonight at Rochester John Marshall High School. Swimming finals will return to the Rochester Rec Center on Friday, February 28, at 6:00 p.m. as the Tigers look to secure spots at the state meet.
