FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association (MGHCA) has named Farmington High School Head Girls Hockey Coach Jon Holmes as the Class AA State Coach of the Year following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. Holmes led the Tigers to an 18-9-3 overall record, a Section 1AA championship, and a berth in the MSHSL Class AA State Tournament.
Holmes, who has amassed a career coaching record of 270-202-23, has built a reputation not only for developing competitive teams on the ice but also for his leadership and advocacy for community-based hockey in Minnesota.
