RJ graduated from Farmington High School in 2004 and during his time here he was a three sport athlete participating in Soccer, Track & Field and Swimming & Diving.  In Soccer, he was the team’s goalie, a two-time Captain and received both All Conference and Team MVP honors in 2004. 

He also served as Captain in Track and Field in 2004 and earned both Section and Conference Championships that year as well as All State recognition by placing 9th in Pole Vault.  RJ still holds the FHS School Record for Pole Vault.

In Swimming & Diving RJ was a four-year Team Captain, a five-time School Record holder, and, set in 2004, is still the School Record holder for 6 dives.  He was a four-time MVP, a five-time All Conference selection and five-time All State honoree.  RJ was a two-time Section Champion and the Class A State Champion in 2004, the second State Champ in FHS history.  In 2002, he received All American Honorable Mention honors and was a two-time All American in 2003 and 2004.  RJ was Farmington High School's Athlete of the Year in 2004 and loved competing with his brothers and being coached by his dad Gregg who served as the FHS Boys' Swim and Dive Coach for 8 years between 1999 and 2007. 

RJ attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst after high school on a Diving scholarship where he served as Team Captain for two years and was honored as the MVP in 2008. He received numerous collegiate awards including holding the Atlantic 10 Conference 1- and 3-meter Diving Records; a four time Conference Champion on the 1-meter board and Conference Champion once on 3-meter.  He was the 2008 Diver of the Year, an eight-time NCAA Zone A qualifier and a seven-time NCAA Zone A finalist.
